Let me tell you the heartwarming story of my cat Jazzy and his new friend:
I got Jazzy for my 25th birthday. Love at first sight! Jazzy slept under my blanket close to my tummy, next to or right on my head. I could've just watched him all day. He was my first kitty I had for myself and man I felt so much love for him! I swore I would always protect him.
I got him Ninja as a friend. Those two became really close. Many cuddles, grooming each other, playing together....
Some years later Jazzy suddenly dissapeared. By the time I found him his left eye had suffered infection. We were able to save his eye but his eyesight was never the same.
Neither was his relationship to Ninja. Ninja started chasing him away.
Until Jazzy only came home to eat. He was constantly scared and stressed. He woud creep into the house keeping his head and tail low. I was barely able to touch him. He would hiss at everything, growl and run from every tiny noise.
This wasn't my sweet #kitty
anymore. Jazzy was acting completly different. He was not the happy, nice and self consious kitty I knew.
After 2 years I couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't stand watching him like that. So I made the hardest decision I had ever had to make: I gave him to my sister.
A lot of thought went into weather to keep him or Ninja, I'll spare you the details but decided it would be best for both cats this way.
just had a baby back then. Jazzy would hiss at the baby and be irritated at first. But as my little niece grew older they both started to grow trustful towards each other.
Today they are truly best friends. They love each other, cuddle and play together and my niece calls him: "My Jazzy". She will be 4 years old soon and Jazzy will be 10.
Jazzy is happy again. He's perfectly at #home
in his new environment with his new #family.
It still hurts not to have him around, but I know I made the right decision. It warms my heart to see my little #girl
growing up with such a great #friend.
Sometimes we have to let go of what we love so dearly. It's a #tough
lesson but worth it.
