Meet four of our 2019 staff - Elise, Emma, Cheryln & Sherise - in this week’s edition of #StaffSpotlightSunday
Elise just finished her freshman year at The University of Missouri where she is double majoring in Strategic Communications and Marketing. She is originally from Kansas City, and she has fallen in love with these beautiful Rocky Mountains where she enjoys hiking, camping, and backpacking. Elise’s plan to make the world a better place is to teach people the value of experiencing the outdoors. Elise says, “I love getting to know new people and hearing their stories. I am beyond excited to show campers how fun and fulfilling a summer spent outside can be!
Emma just graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. She is going to spend the summer at the Ranch trying to decide what to do next! Emma’s plan to make the world a better place is to be kind to everyone and to not make judgements about others, especially without knowing their story. Emma says, “I am so excited to be back for my fourth year, and I can’t wait to see all of the new and returning campers!”
Cherylyn is a third grade teacher in Wichita, Kansas, where she lives with her cat, Noche. She loves spending time with family and friends, and first started working at CMR in 2007! Cherylyn says, “I love seeing all of the CMR campers. It’s great to spend my summer helping kids get some good quality outside time! If you can dream it, you can do it!” Cherylyn’s favorite part of Nature is the fact that everything in Nature has the ability to regenerate, heal, and recycle, even after devastation has occurred.
Sherise graduate from University of Hawaii in May 2018, and spent some time traveling in India and earning her 200 hour yoga teacher certification. She has been exploring what careers are out there, and she came back to camp to ground herself in the mountains before the next phase of her life. Sherise’s plan to make the world a better place is to always practice kindness. Sherise says, “Coming back to the ranch is just like coming home!”
