Saturday morning I completed the 🦄 @thecolorrun #Chicago with @binks827! I’ve been to a few years of it now, and needless to say I’m unfortunately not interested in going anymore. The route now is trash, too many kids who aren’t respecting others, too many cigarette smokers, poor color stations, no etiquette for those of us actually running it (I completed it in 36min which is slow for me), and other things that had me more upset than hyped to run. 🚨 What is a thread lift?

“A thread lift is a type of procedure wherein temporary sutures are used to produce a subtle but visible "lift" in the skin. Instead of removing the patient's loose facial skin surgically, the cosmetic surgeon simply suspends it by stitching up portions of it.

This has the effect of pulling the skin back slightly and therefore lifting and tightening the face. In addition to being ideal for lifting the skin, threads combat aging in another way: by provoking the body's "healing response" and causing the body to direct large surges of collagen to treated areas. This is important because of the vital role collagen plays in the aging process.

Collagen helps support "growth factors" that greatly influences the condition of our skin. In addition to being used for wound healing, collagen helps to keep our skin strong, voluminous and supple. Let's talk about our ego's ! 
I know ... that in my mainlifts I can get a little bit over ambitious or to aggressive with my weight selection BUT I do this on purpose there to keep the concept of progressive overload running in this simple way (just increase weight) as long as it's possible !
However I do this all with a constant observation of my technique and my body, as soon as I see breakdowns in either one of them you'll see me decreasing the weight and going back to the drawing board to figure out how to fix this ! 
For everything that comes after my mainlift (squat bench dead or a variation)
I try to stay conservative with the weight selection since I mostly strive for good volume there ! I won't gain any benefits from maxing out an a bicep curl or a lat pulldown ! But still I keep them challenging by adding reps each weel or improving form, sometimes even increasing time under tension!
What's the benefit of an approach like that ? 
Well in my opinion fast gains are worth nothing ... if you put yourself into a risky state that way ! One bigger injury can throw you back for months or even have a lifelong effect ! Im my opinion no gain in the world is worth this risk ! And that's my 2cents about this !

Tl;dr: pay attention to the warning signs your body gives you and strive for the best technique ! Big weight only looks awesome with great technique ... nobody's gonna celebrate your cat back deadlift 😂 
And yes I know you want to impress the gurls ... but maybe it's not the right time and place for this ;) impress them with your mind !

First Strongman Show in the books! I came in with one goal in mind: Don’t zero anything! As the first few competitors began to start lifting I watched in astonishment as some (who were bigger and stronger than me) began to zero the events. I was intimidated when I witnessed this until they called my name. Idk how I got the extra strength, adrenaline perhaps, but I didn’t zero any events. Ultimately achieving my goal. 😊 .

Day 1 Friday:

1) Viking Press 275 lbs: 5 Reps (I could never hit this weight in training. I hit 255 once. Surprised myself with this one)

2) Keg Toss: Got the 30 lbs over. Was gassed from the Viking press and was about 1 ft short for the 35 lbs
.

3) 500lbs Conan’s Wheel of Pain: Got 12 feet on my first pick and couldn’t lift it after that. .

As the first few competitors began to start lifting I watched in astonishment as some (who were bigger and stronger than me) began to zero the events. I was intimidated when I witnessed this until they called my name. Idk how I got the extra strength, adrenaline perhaps, but I didn’t zero any events. Ultimately achieving my goal. 😊 .

1) Viking Press 275 lbs: 5 Reps (I could never hit this weight in training. I hit 255 once. Surprised myself with this one)

2) Keg Toss: Got the 30 lbs over. Was gassed from the Viking press and was about 1 ft short for the 35 lbs

3) 500lbs Conan’s Wheel of Pain: Got 12 feet on my first pick and couldn’t lift it after that. .
