❤️ Before moving, slow down, close your eyes, take a few deep breathes and connect with your body. Feel into your body and let your body lead you through the movements.⠀

1️⃣ Lay flat on stomach, with wrists by ribs, palms flat on ground, forehead on ground, legs straight back behind you. ⠀
2️⃣ IMPORTANT: Hug elbows into the midline of your body to activate back muscles. ⠀
3️⃣ Pull belly in to spine ⠀
4️⃣ Reach energetically through the crown of your head to lengthen your entire back side ⠀
5️⃣ Inhale, then exhale and draw shoulders down your back and out of your ears as you lift the crown of your head up. ⠀
6️⃣ Do the different variations i show here (hands on floor, hands floating, then cactus arms), hold for 3-5 breathes in each pose, do 1-3 rounds of each pose.⠀

For some reason there’s a myth that sit ups build greater abs and shed belly fat. Studies show over and over that doing sit-ups consistently may help you do more sit ups over time, but do not burn belly fat or increase the size of “core muscles”.�⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You see, sit ups don’t even really use the muscles that are visible as a 6 pack-the rectus abdominus, they mostly use your hip flexors. Stressing out your hip flexors with hundreds of sit ups often causes them to get really tight, which can lead to lower back pain since they then pull on your lumbar spine, where the muscle connects to the vertebrae. They are also bad for your back because you are curving your back and pushing it into the floor in a compromised position. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you are looking to strengthen your core and develop some nice abs, try heavier compound lifts, especially squatting and deadlifting. Heavy compound lifts are proven to not only strengthen your core but also burn a lot of calories, which is kind of the key to a set of abs. Other weighted exercises such as weighted cable crunches, leg raises, and reverse crunches.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Back pain and sciatic nerve pain can be relieved and avoided by regularly stretching your hamstrings, back, and glutes! My sciatic nerve flares up all the time👿 My friends have been there when I’ve had flare ups to the point where I can’t even walk. IT BLOWS. But I’ve learned how to manage it/prevent it by doing these stretches! :

I used to have these bad flare ups almost everyday. Then I started to do this entire yoga flow once a day to prevent it from flaring up. Now I can go months without issues!

Obviously life can get in the way and if I skip a few days I’ll end up having a flare up. So when it does happen, I slowly try to inch my way into standing pigeon pose (flare ups usually happen to me when I stand up after sitting for awhile). That usually will loosen it up just enough for me to be able to walk somewhere private and do the rest of my poses. TBT to when I had to do them in @annagrace4444 car 🙃 :

Posture is everything... small deviations, overtime (weeks, months, years, decades), will lead to loss of function range of movement, pain, dysfunction from foot to head, inability to do the things that you love, low energy... ughh please watch your posture!! It's one of the most crucial, yet most overlooked things to work on; because, it's not sexy. You aren't throwing around weights, and it's in play even while your working. Embrace it and try to stay aligned through all that you do. Doctors will recommend surgeries to correct damage done by poor posture. Just be aware of it, move often and with meaning, and strive to be healthy 😫😭 I'm tired of seeing hurt people because of muscle imbalance!! We all have - but strive to work on YOURS

Surgery on the spine can occasionally result in scar tissue around spinal nerves. Approximately 10% to 25% of spinal surgery procedures give rise to these scars. The result is a fresh recurrence of pain from scar tissue growth in the epidural space of the vertebrae affected. Scar tissue can lead to compression, inflammation, or swelling in spinal nerves. It can also cause stenosis in the spine and pain in the “tailbone” (or sacroiliac joint). Lysis of adhesions is performed to dissolve (i.e. lyse) the scar tissue (also known as adhesions). This has been shown to give relief from surgically-acquired pain in both the short and longer term

WHAT IS ABSOLUTE STRENGTH?

Absolute strength is the maximum amount of force exerted, regardless of muscle or body size.Absolute strength can best be represented by a (01 RM TEST) one rep maximum lift. The most basic expression of strength is that the maximum amount of force that a muscle can exert regardless of bodyweight and This expression of strength is most commonly seen in the powerlifts(SQUAT/BENCH/DEADLIFT). You need to use the maximum amount of strength you have in order to do these lifts. Speed is not a major factor here,
In my case my absolute strength level for deadlift is 140 kilos with the current bodyweight of 
60 kilos and in terms of relative strength I'm lifting 2.33 times my bodyweight so the goal is to lift 3 times my bodyweight while working around my spine health.
There are lot of apps and website which will help you calculate these numbers.so check yours and hit the bar with an intent.
I'm a strong believer and Advocate of training with an intent that's serves the purpose of that typical workout session to long term goal,hence with no intent to exercise I don't believe any benefit it does your body.so set up a goal and go smash it guys.

My clients, class members, and chiropractic patients often ask me for ONE THING they can do throughout the day to improve their posture..
:
Since posture is dynamic & global and not static & compartmentalized, there  really isn’t one thing that will fix your posture long term.  BUT if there’s one tip I would suggest it’s to keep your CHEST UP..
:
Our modern habits and habitats (daily seat & screen time) often pull us into postures where our chest is collapsed or compressed inward..
:
When the chest collapses inward, the rib cage drops, the shoulders internally rotate, the head pulls forward, and the back of the neck folds..
:
Or maybe it’s the forward head and slumping shoulders that collapses the chest. Either way it doesn’t matter since all of these structures work together. All of this leads to compression and is generally not healthy for the human frame..

When the chest is up tall, the shoulders can widen, the rib cage can expand, the head can pull back into better balance, and the neck can lengthen..
:
So no matter what you’re doing throughout the day try to keep your chest up. Whether it’s standing, sitting, driving, walking, or looking at posts about posture on Instagram etc... 😉.
